What's on my iPhone?...

I saw this tag video on one of my recent YouTube catch-up sessions and thought it would transpire well into a blog post. I love seeing what apps people use on a day to day basis so here's what my iPhone 5 is loaded up with: ...

YourTea Tiny Tea Teatox

So here we are 7 days into my Tiny Tea Teatox and I've really enjoyed it! The first thing I noticed is how much my skin has cleared up. I genuinely didn't think that this was a benefit of the tea, considering it is essentially a 'weight loss' system ...

Coral Ombre Nails

Not a perfect ombré, but these colours look so good together that I can forgive the fact that I don't have five perfectly gradiented coral tones in my nail polish collection ...

Event: The One Where They All Watched Friends #shhealthysmile...

At the beginning of the month, I was invited down to the Everyman Cinema in Leeds by the lovely team over at Simplyhealth to enjoy a good ol' giggle with my Sister with the first four episodes of Friends in our own private screen, complete with sweets, popcorn and some fun competitions.

It's so easy to forget to take time out for yourself and really enjoy the little things. We're all so focused on where we're going to notice the now. With recent events in my life, I've been finding it hard to enjoy myself, and just laughing sometimes makes me feel guilty, but the truth is, laughter really can be the best medicine, and taking that time out to be with your best friends can do you the world of good. This is the message that Simplyhealth's #shhealthySmile campaign really wants to promote.

With it being a whole 10 YEARS since the final episode aired, it's easy to forget just how hilarious the first few episodes of Friends are, and now I'm heading into my mid twenties, there's a friends related one-liner that fits into almost every area of my life, which we were all reminded of throughout the night following the #. It was amazing just how many quotes you remember! The feed had me chuckling the whole way home.
I had such a fun evening at the Everyman, their intimate and comfortable screens, which remind me remarkably of the Central Perk, make for such an enjoyable viewing experience. I can't wait to go again and I want to thank Joe Bloggers and Simplyhealth for such a great night (and my new favourite mug...)

Spring Colour Pop Make Up...

I have been and will always be a neutral makeup up kinda gal, opting for bronzed tones on my lids, nude-pink glosses and barely there blush, that is until the sun started shining and these two bright beauties popped through my letter box.

The Eyes
Now the clocks have gone back and the days are getting longer, Summer is well and truly in sight. I am no stranger to the bright lip, but bright eye colours are way out of my comfort zone. The SS14 runways were awash with colour pop eyes, and not in the way that is reserved only for the runway, but in a way in which the average colour-phobe can pull off.

Additional products used: 17 Stay Time Long Wear Primer, Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Bourjois Bronzing Primer, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Becca Brow Powder*, W7 Golden Brown Palette*
I used the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Turquoise Forever* with my Urban Decay Shadow Brush to highlight the inner corners of my eyes and blending it out giving a softened look. Finishing off the eyes with a slick of Benefit They're Real and I had a look that would't look out of place at Coachella. The look is surprisingly wearable and I can definitely see myself reaching for this combination throughout spring, it just adds a little something!

The Lips
Corals and Oranges make more of an appearance on my lips throughout Spring, and this gorgeous Chunky Lips pencil from W7* in Spontaneous is no exception. The formula is really creamy but quite drying, so a slick of Blistex and Lush's Lips Scrub goes a long way with this product. It wears really nicely and the colour payoff is great. Amazing for just £2.49! The matte finish is really comfortable to wear and really compliments the turquoise in the eyes. It is a very similar shade to the Topshop Neon Rose Cream Blush which I paired with this look.

I was kindly sent these products by Xtras, an online beauty outlet stocking everything from hair extensions to perfume at great affordable prices. I was so surprised by the range of products they offer and the incredible quality of the products from W7, a brand I knew nothing about. I can't wait to try more of their products.

Mission Clean & Lean: 21 Day Detox...

It is officially 60 Days until I will be donning a bikini and jetting off to hotter climes for my Summer holiday (and 1st ever trip abroad in over 10 years!), and whilst I am fully aware that Summer bodies are made in the Winter, I am upping my fitness routine and clean eating to ensure I feel and look my best.

Mission Clean & Lean are a unique, online detox program lead by Fern Whittaker & Jo Parry, who aim to motivate and transform all of their members through just 21 days of clean eating and 20 minutes of daily exercise. Looking through their Facebook page and their members before and after photos, you can see that their regime is nothing but successful, shedding pounds and inches and overhauling their lifestyles.

The plan is incredibly social, making use of Facebook and Twitter to really support their members to keep them motivated and on target to meet their goals. The girls share their information daily, posting exercise plans and meals for the following day. Tomorrow marks the first day of my detox, I have my shopping list and meal plans in hand and I can't wait to get started.

I will be sharing my all of my measurements at the end of the detox (alongside the dreaded before and after photos), so make sure you follow me on Instagram to keep updated with what I'm eating and doing and feel free to tweet me or leave comments below.

L'Oreal Les Blancs Nail Polish Collection: The Barely There Manicure...

Just when we thought Spring had well and truly sprung, the Great British weather throws us a curve ball and we're plummeted into grey skies and drizzle. Again. However, this hasn't dampened by beauty spirits and I'm jumping feet first into editing my beauty collection, starting with these barely-there shades from L'Oreal.
The Les Blancs collection features four gorgeous white based polishes with the tiniest hint of colour. I was sent Peach and Lemon Meringue to try out. Inspired by sorbet and macaroons, these colours are perfect for Spring. They glide onto the nails well and are opaque with two coats, drying super quick and even standing up against chips without a top coat. The bottles are a tiny 5ml, but, if like me, you never finish a bottle of nail polish, they are a perfect size.

L'Oreal Perfection Colour Riche Les Blancs in Lemon Meringue (*)
As you can tell by the photos, the colours are so subtle! They are a little more visible in real life and the camera doesn't quite capture their true hues, but both shades are beautiful and I can see myself wearing these throughout Spring and Summer this year. As someone who never wears yellow, the Lemon colour is surprisingly easy to wear and doesn't look sickly against my skin tone, and the peach is just gorgeous, both are like nothing I already own. I think I'm going to pick up the other two shades in this line, a pretty blue and pistachio green, colours which I love to wear on my nails.

What do you think of the Les Blancs collection?

Ladbrokes Grand National Ladies Day Outfit Challenge 2014: My Entry....

I've never been to the Races, but have always been jealous of all of the photos of girls being super glammed up and enjoying a girls day out together. This year, Ladbrokes are hosting a competition to win tickets for the Grand National Ladies Day at Aintree and I've jumped at the chance to submit my entry. All I had to do was post an outfit featuring what I'd wear to Ladies Day.

Jacket: Zara || Dress: River Island || Bag: Zara || Shoes: Zara || Necklace : Kardashian Kollection for Lipsy || Lipstick: Topshop
I actually have this dress and I absolutely love the bold pattern and bright colours. I'd pair it with this beautiful white Blazer from Zara to make it more appropriate for Ladies Day, but the contrast of the print and pure white gives an effortlessly chic look. Barely there shoes add that classic finish without detracting from the dress, and the thicker block heel of these Zara ones mean there'll be no sinking into the grass.

I haven't opted for a headpiece here, the mark of a true Ladies' Day outfit, but I'd add a floppy hat or fedora to give a nod to the tradition whilst adhering to my personal style. A final slick of Topshop's Infrared lipstick, loose waves to the hair and a bronzed smokey eye and I'll be making my way to Liverpool.

The competition closes at 12PM on Friday (28th March) and the winner will be announced at 5PM that day. You can vote through Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook from the Ladbrokes website. What do you think of my outfit choice? I'm always trying to think of new ways to style what I currently own.

Benefit They're Real Mascara...

I seem to be falling further and further in love with Benefit products recently, first it was Hoola, then the POREfessional and now the stunning They're Real Mascara which has sky rocketed to the top spot of mascara HG status. I have already gone through a few mini samples of this mascara, but I won the full sized product from the lovely Becca, and thought the time had come to share my views on Benefits "They're Real".
The formula of this mascara lifts, curls, volumises and separates the lashes to create a truly false lash effect. The wand, whilst looking like some kind of torture devise, is part of the reason why this mascara is so amazing. The brush is made of staggered bristles which grab all of the lashes and the spherical tip ensures you can catch even the smallest lashes in the corners of the eyes, giving a wide eyed look. This doesn't make my lashes clump together, and unlike a lot of other mascaras, you do not have to wait for it to dry out before it gives great results. I can see why this has become such a cult mascara.
On me, this mascara does not budge on me, it doesn't flake, smudge or loose its oomph throughout the day. My lashes stay curled and defined from the minute I apply it to the minute I struggle to remove it at night. My Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Cleansing Oil even has a hard time taking this off, not necessarily a point that would stop me repurchasing, but it is a little bug bare. If anyone has some eye makeup remover recommendations, please throw them my way!

At £19.50 a tube, this is on the pricey side of proceedings, but the results make the parting of the pennies justifiable.

Leeds RAG Fashion Show 2014: Wanderlust...

On the 27th February, I was invited to sit FROW-ish to the Leeds RAG Fashion Show. This years theme was Wanderlust and featured some truly gorgeous designs alongside the inevitable lineup of Leeds Uni's finest abs and beautiful faces.

The night kicked off with cocktails and champagne whilst I got chatting with Laura and Anton, snapping a few outfit photos and a obligatory Photo Booth session. We were lead into the Refectory and local band Purple Emperors started off the show. We were then introduced to the show with a touching speech about the two charities Leeds RAG was supporting, SUDEP Action and Support After Rape & Sexual Violence Leeds (SARSVL). It was lovely to hear just how involved the students and organisers were with the two charities.

This year's show Wanderlust, marked their 10th Show and took inspiration from exploratory travel, natural landscapes and exotic environments. Unfortunately, I had to leave at the interval to go to work, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the show which showcased works by Casper Oliver, AQAQ, American Apparel and Leutton Postle.

The first collection was called Bohemian Rose and was inspired by fields, meadows and wild flowers. I really liked the dusty colour palette, delicate fabrics and florals that these outfits had to offer and the paring of heavy leather jackets and spring dresses was definitely something I could see myself wearing.
Northern Lights was the second collection to hit the catwalk. The clothing was very clean, with PVC elements by Casper Oliver. I loved the hints of bright blue against the mainly metallic colour palette of these outfits and the see-through outerwear looked incredible. The models diamanté encrusted brows and slicked back hair really pulled the looks together.
That sequin jacket!
The Burnt Earth collection had to be my favourite of the night. A gothic theme, all black outfits with lashings of black lipstick and winged liner with hints of hot pink and orange. I loved the heavy leather, cut-outs, headpieces and the out-there duvet coat by Philli Wood. Most of the collection was ready-to-buy by AQ/AQ.
I wish I could pull off this leather jacket look!
The final collection I saw was Fresh Water Pearl, inspired by steam, oasis and blue lagoons and comprising of designs by Leutton Postle and Casper Oliver. The prints in this collection were stunning but I fell head over heels in love with the backpacks by Casper Oliver. These neoprene and PVC designs completed these outfits perfectly and I for one really want to get my mitts on a satchel of my own!
The abs were nice, but it was this bag by Casper Oliver that had my heart beating fast!

Throughout the show we were all asked to take selfies for the sponsor brand RockPamperScissors for the chance to win some fab prizes which was so much fun and a great way to get involved. Lucinda kept up live twitter feed throughout the whole show, complete with photos of all the outfits and captions detailing who the designs were by.

I really enjoyed Wanderlust and my first foray into blogging at fashion events. It's thoroughly given me the fashion show bug (LFW anyone?!). I think I definitely need to sharpen up on my photography skills though, but getting ONE non-blurred photo was an absolute achievement. It was great to meet the gorgeous Em, the lovely Anton and catch-up with Laura throughout the night. As 10PM hit, I had to make a quick exit and dash to work, but I'd love to thank Lucinda for inviting me down and I was gutted that I didn't get to see the remainder of the show.

DIY Ombré Hair: Bleach London and Bblonde...

As the seasons are changing, I decided to give my ombré hair a little revamp, giving the tips a wash of white-blonde using Jerome Russell Bblonde Medium Lift Blonding Kit to give the ombré its lift and finishing off with toning and conditioning products from new kids on the block Bleach London.
Bblonde is the only kit I've ever used to ombré my hair. Its so easy to use and gives exactly the results I look for. I started off applying bleach to the areas I wanted to turn white. I focused this on the very ends of my hair aiming to get the product equally applied across my hair. I scrunched the bleach up the hair to give it a more natural gradient. After 30 minutes I applied a bit more bleach, higher up my hair, using the same scrunching technique. After another 30 minutes I washed everything out and applied the provided conditioning shampoo.
The results weren't as white as I wanted to I picked up the Silver Shampoo and Conditioner from Bleach London, a salon brand which is renowned for its incredible hair colours. After two applications of the shampoo and conditioner the ends of my hair are a lovely ashy white-blonde colour. The products smell lovely and are not too highly pigmented that you go from yellow to purple in one application. I am now using this combination on a weekly basis to keep up the vibrancy of my colour.
The final product I purchased was another my Bleach, their Reincarnation Mask, a deep treatment conditioner aimed at increasing hairs elasticity and repairing the dryness and damage associated with dying your hair. This product is incredible!  I applied this thick mask to the mid lengths and ends to pre-shampooed hair and combed through. I tied my up whilst it soaked in and washed it out after 10 minutes. It smells a little like Sudocrem, but the results are amazing, transforming my parched ends to hydrated flowing locks which are easy to style and much more manageable, even the Boy commented on how soft my hair was.
The mask has to be one of my favourite discoveries of late and it has come from a brand that I didn't know much about. What has been your favourite discovery recently?

An Introduction to the Leeds RAG Fashion Show 2014...

On Thursday I will be attending the Leeds RAG Fashion Show as one of their Official Bloggers. The theme of this years' show is Wanderlust and draws inspiration from exploratory travel, natural landscapes and exotic environments. The Leeds RAG Fashion Show is a prestigious charity event, and this year it is supporting SUDEP and SARSVL, charities supporting the research of preventing deaths from epilepsy and supporting the victims of rape and sexual violence.
This year the Fashion Show will be showcasing and incorporating new, young designers alongside established brands such as ASOS, American Apparel and AQ/AQ. I am so excited about being given the chance to cover the event, on its 10th Anniversary, on my blog along with some other amazing local bloggers, who I can't wait to meet and catch up with. Last year the shows raised over £15,000 of the £295,000 total Leeds RAG raised, which is such an incredible achievement for everyone involved.

I will be posting photos and tweeting live from the event and also writing a full blog post for you all to read. In the mean time, check out for more information and if you'd like to attend, you can purchase tickets from

Restaurant Review: Rosie's Diner Leeds...

Leeds first 24hour Diner, Rosie's Diner, opened its doors on Monday offering early birds and night owls alike an extensive American themed menu with a warm, family- friendly atmosphere. It didn't take long for us to give in to the temptation of nearby pulled pork and burgers, so me and the Boy took a trip down on Wednesday to see what Rosie's had to offer.
A bus... A BUS!
The Diner itself is beautiful, complete with a Monster Truck parked out front and an all-american yellow school bus finishing off its 1950's-esque decor. The music was straight out of Grease and I couldn't help but to sing along whilst sipping on my chocolate milkshake.

The food was lovely. I had the Yorkshire Terrier, a hot dog topped with pulled pork and it was everything I wanted it to be, whilst the Boy had The New York BBQ Burger. He said that it was one of the nicest burger patties he had tried (rivalling the amazing Mr. Nice Guys there). You could actually see the chefs making up the burgers in the kitchen from where we were sat, and the fact that they use 100% Yorkshire Beef and source local ingredients really sets it apart from other high street chains. We both had the sweet potato fries, which were DELICIOUS.
The New York BBQ Burger and the Yorkshire Terrier Hot Dog both served with home made slaw and sweet potato fries.
Rosie's Chocolate Milkshake served in a vintage milk bottle, so cute and it tasted so good!
Whilst we were eating, I couldn't help but cast my eyes around and feast my eyes on everything the other customers had ordered (this was the reason I ended up getting one of their milkshakes!), and everything looked incredible, their 'Blooming Onion' had me curious and their Steaks had me almost drooling, don't even get me started on the desserts... for some reason my 'dessert stomach' did not kick in this trip... Next time!

The food is reasonably priced and the Diner attracts custom from all types of people, the Bus had young children playing with etch-a-sketches, the floor had couples and friends alike and the bar seated a group of girls enjoying a bottle of champagne and cocktails. It genuinely has such a great atmosphere.
A view into the kitchen.
Rosie's Blooming Onion. I NEED to try this.
How incredible do these sliders look?!
The only problem with Rosie's was the waiting time. We waited 45 minutes to be seated and when we were eventually seated we seemed to have been forgotten about, and did not have the chance to order for another 30 minutes. After drawing this to the attention of the staff, they were beyond helpful and extremely apologetic, even giving us a discounted meal and a discount card for future visits. Justin, who was our waiter, was incredible and is a complete credit to the Rosie's brand, he really made the whole experience more personal and he definitely knew his stuff. I think this minor hitch could be put down to the inevitable teething problems of a new restaurant opening and new staff learning on the job. The food was well worth the wait and the rest of the Diner was full of customers enjoying it and the atmosphere.

The fact that Rosie's Diner is always open is just fantastic, how often do you get a late night hankering for dessert and not a soul is open to fulfil it?! It might just be me on this one, but I genuinely can't wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu. I fully recommend it to everyone!
