Joe Browns Blogger Event: From Unemployable to Unconventional...

Joe Browns. Not usually a brand I'd associate with fashion. Not usually a brand you'd hear about. Aside from their little catalogues I used to receive through my door when I was younger, it wasn't one I'd heard much of before either. So when I was invited to come along to their Mexican Fiesta I was quite excited to see how the brand had developed and evolved since I'd last seen of them.

On arrival we were treated to some (very strong) margaritas and some lovely Mexican food (YUM!) and had a chance to peruse around the HQ at the various rails and displays they had. After a chance to talk amongst ourselves and meet some of the other bloggers, we were sat down to some entertaining speeches from the man himself and the lovely fashion buyers. They spoke about the brand with such a passion, it was really nice to see and hear that they had a genuine love for the brand, and to hear it from those who actually set it up. They guided us through the different looks that Joe Browns had in store for Autumn/Winter including 'Navaho', 'Objet Trouve' (a vintage theme with lace, keys and buttons being a key element) and 'Alpine' (a mixture of chunky knits and boyfriend fits).

We all had a chance to try things on a and pick out pieces that we thought were key for this Autumn/Winter, you might be able to see why this Oversized Grandad Cardigan was a winner with us!
Grandads Cardi £39.95
To be honest Joe Browns chunky knits are right on the money and their footwear is gorgeous too. Here are a few of my favourite items:

Apologies for the lack of actual photos, margaritas + bag + camera = Not enough hands!
Top L-R: New Navajo Ring £5.95, Navajo Waistcoat £32.95, Vintage Faux Fur Coat £79.95
Bottom L-R: Shearling Boot £34.95, Parisian Jacket £69.95, Feather Bracelet Pack £19.95
They pride themselves on creating 'remarkable' clothing and following trends whilst still "boogying to their own beat" (the brand have so many motivational messages dotted around HQ which are great: "What would Elvis do?" is definitely my fave!)If you're looking for something conventional and mainstream, this is not the brand for you, but for key statement pieces and something a little more 'free' and unusual, jump onto their website and check out the range because there's definitely something there for you.

And to top the night off we were all handed a gorgeous little goody bag with an amazingly generous gift voucher to spend on their clothing. What do you think I should treat myself to?

How cute is this bag!?!
This is my first ever blogger event, and although I felt a little unsure on what to do with myself, I had an amazing time and met so many lovely bloggers here's some link loving girlies and gent (sorry Jamie ;) and sorry if I missed you let me know and I'll pop you in!):
Being the owner of one of the smallest and least known blogs in that room was a little scary, but from just chatting to all the girlies I've learnt so much and have discovered some lovely blogs along the way.

Thanks so much to Joe Browns for a lovely event, and I hope you reach 1,000,000 customers soon so we can all come back ;)! Joe Browns clothing is available online (not all A/W stock is on there yet), through their mail order catalogue and even in Simply Be!

Much Love,
Lauran
