What's on my iPhone?...

I saw this tag video on one of my recent YouTube catch-up sessions and thought it would transpire well into a blog post. I love seeing what apps people use on a day to day basis so here's what my iPhone 5 is loaded up with: ...

Event: #shhealthysmile at Everyman Cinema

At the beginning of the month, I was invited down to the Everyman Cinema in Leeds by the lovely team over at Simplyhealth to enjoy a good ol' giggle with my Sister...

YourTea Tiny Tea Teatox

So here we are 7 days into my Tiny Tea Teatox and I've really enjoyed it! The first thing I noticed is how much my skin has cleared up. I genuinely didn't think that this was a benefit of the tea, considering it is essentially a 'weight loss' system ...

Coral Ombre Nails

Not a perfect ombré, but these colours look so good together that I can forgive the fact that I don't have five perfectly gradiented coral tones in my nail polish collection ...

Feel The Furry...

Autumn is definitely upon us, and so the winter coat is calling me. I'm really loving the fur coat at the moment but there's so many to choose from! Do I go for full fur or just fur trims, I need your opinions girlies! Here are a few of my favourites:

  1. Boohoo Lauren Leopard Print Faux Fur £70
  2. Topshop Faux Fur Pom Pom Duffle £95
  3. Miss Selfridge Cream Faux Fur £89
  4. Boohoo Ava Faux Fur £70
  5. Next Faux Fur Collar Coat £60
  6. Topshop Tweed Faux Fur Collar Boyfriend Coat £110
  7. Next Faux Fur Hooded Parka £58
  8. Miss Selfridge Berry Short Faux Fur Duffle £57
My favourite, an one i've been looking at for a while is number 4. I just love that is has a hood, the 3/4 sleeves meaning I can layer and the colour is stunning. It has a really nice vintage feel and with a 15% discount through Boots TreatStreet 'til the end of this month it'll only be £60, which for a full length fur is a steal!

Let me know what you're eyeing up.

Much Love,

Vivo Cosmetics: Alive With Colour...

So I'm sure you've heard tonnes about the new Vivo Cosmetics range available in Tesco. Dubbed as the MAC of the Supermarket, I've heard great things about the quality and price of their products and when their team sent me some of them to have a look at, I was really excited to give them a go.

I received the Baked Blush in Rouge Shimmer, Diamond Sparkle Lip Gloss in Candy Floss and the Radiant Boost Highlighter.

The stand out product for me is the baked blush. The pigmentation is perfect and the colour is just beautiful. The gorgeous pink with a slight golden shimmer adds luminosity to the skin without looking like you have a tonne of product. The powder is really blendable and buildable so you can achieve a natural or striking look as you wish. As well as coming in another 3 pretty shades, this costs a mere £4 for 8g. I'm definitely going to be picking up the other three shades as soon as possible!

Whilst a lipgloss this glittery is not my cup of tea, I cannot fault the quality. It is not at all sticky, has no 'cheap plasticky' smell and the glitter is not scratchy. For only £1.50, if you like sparkly lip colours, you can't go wrong. The only flaw I can pick out is the combination of a squeeze tube and a brush applicator an cause a mess if it's accidentally squeezed.

Finally, we have the YSL Touché Éclat dupe, Radiant Boost Highlighter. It is meant to add instant luminosity to wherever it is applied. The click pen and brush application is easy to use, but in my opinion the slightly pink toned, thick formula is more suited as a under eye concealer. I really don't think it has the right tone nor consistency to use as a highlighter, but it would be great to combat those dark circles.

What I also love about this brand is the fact that it's cheap has not impacted on the packaging. The blush packaging is sturdy and looks pretty and the addition of brush applicators on the lipgloss and highlighter is something you don't really find with other cheap brands. The product and shade range is also really diverse, with 14 single eyeshadow colours, 3 types of mascara and a host of palettes, this range has something for everyone and with the ease of being able to pick it up on your weekly shop, you'd be silly not to give it a go.

I'm definitely going to pick up some Lipsticks (£1.99 each), the Mattifying Loose Powder (£3.00) and the Baked Bronzer (£5) along with some of their palettes, next time I'm in a larger Tesco store. They launched on the 1st September so you should be able to get a hold of them now!

What do you think? Have you tried any of Vivo's products?

My GlossyBox: October 2011 Edition...

Yep so Blogtober was a bit of a fail, but with a split from my long term boyfriend, moving house and the start of my final year of Uni I just haven't had the time to fit it in :( Hopefully this will all change as I'm finally getting on top of things! Yay

Any way so you may have been spying the GlossyBox spoilers floating around and so you all must know that it's GlossyBox time again.

The theme of this month's box is '6 Pack', a celebration of 6 months and 6 GlossyBoxes with a bonus 6th product and gift! I received in mine:

  • Dermalogica Age Smart MultiVitamin Thermofoliant
  • Dermalogica Age Smart MulitVitamin Power Recover Masque
  • Dermalogica Age Smart Renewal Lip Complex
  • Dermalogica Cosmetics Bag
  • Leighton Denny Expert Nails in Hanky-Panky
  • Stila Smudge Stick in Moray
  • Robert Piguet Eau De Parfums in Visa, Calypso and Fracas

Obviously, the biggest part of this box was the Dermalogica products. I have been wanting to try out Dermalogica's Acne range for a while, so Age Smart isn't really appropriate for my 20 year old skin. However, the benefits of these sound intriguing and will definitely get use in my skincare routine, especially the heating exfoliator. These are all sample sizes, but the full sized products range in price from £40.50 (75ml), £33.00 (70ml) and £22.50 (1.75ml).

This isn't my usual go-to eyeliner colour, but swatched its absolutely gorgeous! It a sort of khaki green with gold shimmers. Anything with gold tones tends to look nice with blue eyes, so this is a winner with me. I can vouch for its waterproofness too, it took some scrubbing to take this off in the shower! The formula is super smooth, and I can definitely see this living up to the US Beauty Guru hype. This is a full-sized product. Stila is now stocked in Boots and retails for £13.00.

I do love a good nail polish and with Halloween just around the corner how perfect is this colour choice?! It's a lovely metallic orange with silver running through it. I've never used Leighton Denny polishes before, so i'm looking forward to painting my nails later. This is a full-sized polish and retails for £11.00.

The final product I received this month are these fragrances. I must admit, the fragrances aren't my favourite part of the boxes. The scents always seem to be a little 'old' for me. I love sweet, floral fragrances and the samples I received prior have always been musky, sort of 'evening' scents. I haven't had much of a smell of these yet, but when I opened my box, I got a whiff of incense which I assumed to be these.

Overall, I think this box is lovely! I also love the new way they've done the info cards consisting of QR codes so I can literally scan and buy if I wanted... Great addition there GlossyTeam!

Each box I fall in love with GlossyBox even more and I'm definitely staying tuned for the next few. I've had 5 of the 6 boxes and they've got better and better.

Much Love,
Lauran

Fruity Haircare...

Hi Girlies!

Long time no blog :( I have been so busy this past month with Uni starting, working too much and general life problems, so this month I am trying to do Blogtober, and blog every day in October so that I can keep all 108 of you entertained and make up for the naff amount of posts in September!

L-R: Fruity Tropical Shimmer, Fruity Berry Protect and Refresh, Fruity Citrus Hydrate.

On to today's subject: Wilkinson's Fruity Haircare, in particular the Fruity Berry Protect and Refresh.

I blogged about how much I enjoyed the Wilkinson's Sweet Vanilla and Honey Shower Smoothie and their PR team was kind enough to send me some more of their products.

These smell amazing and the strawberry filled scent hangs in your hair all day. All hair care products are two for £2 and £1.48 each, a great bargain for all of you new students out there.

Shampoo: "You’ll love the gentle cleansing of this Fruity Berry Protection shampoo. It has been specially developed with extracts of cranberry, raspberry and strawberry, and formulated to offer help with protecting the vibrancy of colour treated hair." For the price of these products you can't really complain. My hair felt squeaky clean after using this shampoo, and although it didn't lather up too much, it did feel a little drying on my hair.

Conditioner: "This fragrantly fruit conditioner enhances shine and adds berry scented freshness to healthy-looking hair. Also developed with fruit extracts, it leaves your hair soft and cares for your scalp – while giving you that fruity feeling!" The conditioner isn't the most thick nor does it cling to the hair after washing out, but it does do its job in that the ends of my hair felt more nourished and soft. You do however need a lot of product to feel a benefit.

Hair mist: "This fruity spray has been specially formulated to refresh and add condition to colour treated hair at any time." By far my favourite product of them all! This spray smells gorgeous and I have been using it by just spritzing on day old hair or when I've used dry shampoo to get rid of the powdery smell. It lingers all day and I can't help but smell my hair when I use it.

I think I'd like to try the Citrus Hydrate products as I do have very dry hair and think these would definitely be more beneficial for my hair type, but for all of you who dye their hair (not blonde) this product will be great for you. I suggest you pop in store and give them all a little sniff, because all of the scents are lovely and for just £2 for a shampoo and conditioner, you can't go wrong!

Much Love,
Lauran
