What's on my iPhone?...

I saw this tag video on one of my recent YouTube catch-up sessions and thought it would transpire well into a blog post. I love seeing what apps people use on a day to day basis so here's what my iPhone 5 is loaded up with: ...

Restaurant Review: Rosie's Diner...

Leeds first 24hour Diner, Rosie's Diner, opened its doors on Monday offering early birds and night owls alike an extensive American themed menu with a warm, family- friendly atmosphere...

YourTea Tiny Tea Teatox

So here we are 7 days into my Tiny Tea Teatox and I've really enjoyed it! The first thing I noticed is how much my skin has cleared up. I genuinely didn't think that this was a benefit of the tea, considering it is essentially a 'weight loss' system ...

Coral Ombre Nails

Not a perfect ombré, but these colours look so good together that I can forgive the fact that I don't have five perfectly gradiented coral tones in my nail polish collection ...

My GlossyBox: September 2011 Edition...

Afternoon Girlies,
So, the Postman has been and you all know what that means... GlossyBox time:

The theme of this month's box is '5 Future Classics' and is meant to be an array of new products which are bound to be can't-live-without-classics in the near future, and my box contained:

  • Neäl & Wølf Glow Super Shiny Spray
  • Dead Sea Spa Magik Salt Brushing Sachets
  • Plum by Mary Greenwell Eau De Parfum
  • GreenPeople Fruitful Nights Night Cream
  • HD Brows Eyes and Brows Palette in Foxy
On first impressions of this box, I was instantly drawn to the HD Brows set, and nothing much else. I have seen other boxes which include Sri-Vectin and other skin products which may have been more my cup of tea, but nonetheless, I'll give everything a go as I always do. So onto the products.

Salt Brushing by Dead Sea Spa is an exfoliating treatment to rid the body of dead skin. It contains Dead Sea salts, Coconut Oil and Vitamin E and is meant to hydrate, repair and soothe the body. The sachets are 50g (full size) and retail for £1.68 each. I will definitely be giving these a go before I tan next!

I have never heard of the GreenPeople brand and after a bit of research, they are a brand specialising in organic body care products. This particular product contains a whopping 90.1% certified organic ingredients! The Fruitful Nights has been voted the best miracle skin worker, contains jojoba and hibiscus rosehip and claims that:
  • Blemishes and imperfections become less apparent
  • Dead skin cells lift away revealing younger skin beneath
  • Minimises fine lines and gives skin an even texture
  • For a softer, smoother face and neck
This is a 10ml sample, and the full sized 50ml product retails for £14.95 but is currently on sale for £9.95. If the product lives up to its claims, this could definitely be a winner!

This is one of the products that I can see myself using up right away. The Neäl & Wølf Glow Super Shine Spray is to be used all over dry hair and is meant to add lasting shine to your hair whilst controlling frizz and reducing static. This is a full sized 100ml product which retails for £11.95. It smells absolutely gorgeous.

On to the most exciting product, at least for me, in this months box, the HD Brows Set. I tweeted about wanting the full on HD Brows treatment recently, but have yet to find a place in the City Centre which does it, this is the next best thing! I've heard so much buzz about HD Brows in the blogosphere and the fact that the formulation just does not budge. I can't wait to give this a proper go. Perfect brows here I come :D The only issue I had with this is that it did not come in a box and so when I opened it, one of the colours had chipped and there was dust everywhere :( Also I probably could have done with a lighter shade, as for my brows, only one of the colours is useable. However, they are gorgeous colours and will be great for a neutral smokey eye.

This is a full sized palette which retails for £24.95 (I think! I can't find a purchase link anywhere... I may just be a bit special, let me know if you find it). It's perfect handbag sized and great for on-the-go touch-ups.

Finally, the last product is a perfume called Plum. It's not my cup of tea on first smellings, but neither was the Lalique one and I really love that now. This is described as having top notes of peach, bergamot, lemon, plum and black currant; a heart of: gardenia, tuberose, orange blossom, rose and jasmine and base notes of: sandalwood, oak moss, patchouli, amber and white musk. It is a very Autumnal scent, so perfect for this time of year.

What are your thoughts on this month's box and what did you get in yours?

Much Love,
Lauran

L'Oreal Superliner Luminizer...

I saw these whilst I was browsing on the Boots Website, has anyone used them yet? I love the regular Superliner Linear Intense and apparently these are designed to compliment the wearers eye colour.

They're available in Blue (for blue eyes), Green (for green eyes) and Hazel (for brown eyes) from L'Oreal at Boots for £6.49 each.

What do you think?

The Sleek Nude Collection...

Sleek is a brand which I literally knew nothing about until I started blogging this year, but their lovely collections and stunning lip and cheek colours don't fail to catch my eyes whenever I'm in Superdrug.

So when they launched this Nude Collection, I quickly snapped it up for its wearable shades and natural look.

I love the iDivine. It's the only one I've picked up so far and I'll definitely be picking up more in the near future. All of the colours are well pigmented (even the light shades, as many people have said they are not) and the colours are so wearable day or night.

My favourite colour has to be Taupe, it's just so easy to throw on and go leaving a lovely shimmery colour to the eyes. Conker and Mineral Earth are also beautiful for the crease and outer v to create a smokey eye. Nougat is the perfect highlight colour too. I've been using this palette alongside the UD Naked one and between the two I have enough neutral and dark colours to create an array of different looks.

By far the best thing about this collection is the Blush in Suede. It's a peachy-brown colour that gives a natural glow to the cheeks. It is matte which means it can also be used to lightly contour. I've worn this almost everyday since buying it, and it's the perfect colour to pair with bright eye looks to avoid clashing.

I am most underwhelmed with the Pout Polish in Bare Minimum. It's nothing special, but it is a great nourishing everyday gloss. I keep mine in my handbag and use it when I need a glossy boost or to put over bright lipsticks to give them an oomph. I think because I have two other bright Pout Polishes, I expected something a bit different, maybe a hint of shimmer, but it does exactly what it says on the tin, and gives you the bare minimum.

What do you think? What's your favourite iDivine?

Monthly Favourites: August 2011 Edition...

Better late then never! I've finally got around to compiling my favourites throughout the month of August and here they are:

Favourite Make Up Products:
1: Cheeks

I have been reaching for two cheek products this month, my Rimmel Blush in Spring Flower and my Topshop Highlighter in Sunbeam. These products together give a lovely natural but girly look to the cheeks.

2: Lips

This month I have been in LOVE with Something New from MAC. It's an Amplified formula and the colour is a bright fuchsia which stays on the lips all day. I have used it lighted dabbed on the lips for more of a stain in the day and its full brightness with just a simple black winged liner eye for night. I am in love with MAC lipsticks and want to pick up Costa Chic as well as some lovely vampy colours for Autumn (suggestions please!).

3: Eyes

Pale colour in the top corner
I have been loving the Taupe colour from the new Sleek Au Natural iDivine Palette. It's one of those swipe and go colours that gives a finished look without the need to add other colours.

Favourite Hair Care Products:

This month has seen me religiously using the Guy Kremer Protection Serum! This stuff is truly amazing and has given life, shine and a soft feeling to my very dull blonde hair. I've been using one pump on wet hair before blow-drying and then another once it's all styled to keep fly aways at bay and seal in the ends of my hair. It smells amazing too. Check out the full review here.I have also been loving this Hair Mist from Wilkinson's. It smells gorgeous and is great to refresh your hair with a scent that lingers all day. (Review of the rest of the line coming soon!).

Favourite Skin Care Products:

I received this cleanser in my August GlossyBox and I've been using it everyday since. It leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed with that sort of menthol tingle. I have noticed a difference in the texture of my skin, its less shiny, my pores seem reduced and I don't seem to be breaking out as much. I am really considering purchasing the full sized product once this is all done. I started using PanOxyl (10%) this month and my skin became really dry and tight, so I picked up the Natural Repair Face Cream from Oilatum. It did the job of restoring the moisture in my skin and I've started using it every morning before makeup. It leaves my face looking dewy and fresh and my make up more natural.

Favourite Shower Product:

OMG! Words cannot describe how much I love and want to EAT this product. It smells amazing and makes my skin feel lush, I've used the whole bottle this month and I need more in my life.

Favourite Nail Polish:

Rather than a particular polish, I have been in love with wearing red on my nails this month. It's a classic colour that instantly gives a manicured look.

Favourite Blog:

I've read Victoria's blog for ages now and absolutely love her new eBay Designer Series. Have an item you've been looking for for ages, or a designer bag you wouldn't mind getting at a bit of a steal, Victoria's your girl! Her outfit posts are gorgeous and she has a great sense of style. If you don't follow her already you should.

What did you love throughout the month of August?

Much Love,

Barry M Foil Instant Nail Effects...

Hi Lovelies!
I tweeted a link earlier this week to these which I saw on ASOS and I just needed to try them! They are the newest offering from the Instant Nail Effects line from Barry M. I was and still am impressed by the Crackles and couldn't pass up on a Foil Effect nail polish as we all know how popular Minx have become.
I'm wearing the Gold Foil. If you're expecting a mirror shine, this isn't going to be the product for you, however it does a good job at mimicking foil at a distance.
It's packed with tiny glitters giving it a light catching shimmer, and the finished product is more antique gold than 24 carat but I think I prefer this.
While not exactly 'foil' this polish is beautiful on and the silver is even better! If you're after a truly metallic colour, this is it. They will both look amazing with the Crackle Effect over the top (I'm off to put Black Magic over mine now!).

What do you think? They retail for £3.99 each and are available directly from Barry M, ASOS and of course 'drugstores'.

Much Love,
Lauran
